what issues concerned you most in your area
There are problems of young people causing damage and acting in an anti-social way in the area of Markfield Drive, which includes the roads of Romney Close, Reynolds Close, Lawrence Close, Gainsborough Close, Constable Close and Blenheim Court. The play area is a particular focus of trouble. (See map file attachment below for more details)
Issues have been identified around the park area to the rear of the Brush and Easel Public House, also concerns about litter in the area and general anti-social behaviour.
The SNT will provide high visibility patrols in the area to identify offences and offenders, we will also take steps to ensure that litter is removed and the area is kept tidy.

2nd July 2010. Patrols conducted throughout the evening. Drug paraphernaliaa was found around the crescent east area , youths all stopped and accounted for. Car crime prevention posters attached to lampost on flemming way, juntion of markfield drive.

6th July 2010. Took part in Operation Outlaw, which aims to raise awareness of car/property crime. Leafleted numerous houses in the area and came across 5 unlocked vehicles and 11 insecure houses. 8th July - a Street Briefing was conducted in the priority area. representatives from other agencies, including the Fire Service, Rotherham 2010, Streetpride and local Concillors were all in attendance and the public were invited to participate. The area was walked and various issues were identified for action:
1) Overgrown vegatation and rubbish at the entrance to the park where young people gather (arrangements to be made to have this cut back and cleared)
2) A disused telephone kiosk which is an attractant for rubbish and damage (BT contacted to apply for removal)
3) Wheelie bins left out on the street by local residents causing a mess, bin theft and obstructions (residents leafleted and advised regarding the necessity to manage their waste bins responsibly)
