what issues concerned you most in your area
Youth related Anti-Social Behaviour. Youths gathering on landings and stairwells of the blocks, smoking Cannabis, ringing buzzers, urinating, leaving litter and making noise. This appears to be particularly a problem in the Gregory and Keating blocks.
This is happening most days between 7pm -11pm
>Following complaints from residents this issue has now been made a P.A.C.T priority which will ensure calls receive a prompt response from officers.
>As of 28/03/2012 a total of 120 hrs patrol time has been spent in this area since it became a priority.
> Increased uniformed and plain clothes police patrols have continued in order to reassure residents and identify those involved.
> We have liaised extensively with Sheffield Homes with regards to the issues in the area and requested increased patrols by Neighbourhood Wardens and that the caretaking team are extra vigilant.
> Last month during patrols two males were stopped in this location, their details were taken and they were advised to move on. This was followed up with the issue of two Parental Advisory Letters.
> Following a reported incident last month 3 youths were stopped in the Gregory block, their details were taken, one was dealt with for possession of cannabis and letters will be sent out to parents. All were advised and moved on.
>Residents have been advised to continue to report incidents promptly in the hope officers can attend whilst youths are still present.
