Youth related antisocial behaviour and drug taking on Sellers Street
Between 4pm - 10pm
Following on from PACT event held on 13th May 2011 and incidents reported to the Police, Sellers Street is now a PACT priority.
>As of 12/08/2011 a total of 50 hours patrol time has been spent on this priority.
> This week we have continued to conduct increased high visibility and plain clothes patrols during late afternoon /evening. No young people have been present during patrols.
>There has been no reported incidents over the week.
>A meeting has now been held with residents, Police, Sheffield Homes and other partners to discuss the issues and Sheffield Homes is now considering various options to provide better security to property perimeters etc.
>During past patrols 8 youths have been stopped at this location and nearby Miller Street, although there were no offences, their details were taken and they were moved on.
>On a separate occasion 5 young people were stopped and had their details taken.
> PC Goodhill , the Childrens and Young Person's officer has been made aware of the Anti-Social Behaviour at this location and is liasing with the parents of those who have been stopped in patrols and the local schools which they attend.
>During past patrols 4 youths were stopped and had their details taken in relation to Anti Social Behaviour in the area, 3 of these youths were later arrested in relation to a subsequent incident that evening.
>Officers have attended at the local youth club to advise young people, some of whom are believed to be frequenting the area around Sellers Street, regarding their behaviour, youth workers have also spoken with their families.
> Residents have been encouraged to report all incidents promptly so officers can attend, identify possible offenders and deal with any offences accordingly.
