SPEEDING VEHICLES and inconsiderate parking around the Penistone SNT area.

We did: 

Requested Traffic Officers, Response Officers and SNT teams to give high profile attention to these areas and utilise the Speed Camera enforcement equipment. 

Reponse Officers attended at both ends of Thurgoland on 23/11/2011 - no vehicles found to be speeding, either from Penistone side nor out towards Wortley. High visibility patrols and prevention.

High Visibility patrol 22/11/2011 in Hoylandswaine - only around 20 vehicles passed this location in an hour and no speeding observed. Fixed penalty notice issued to one female for not wearing a seatbelt.

High Visibility reassurance and Speed enforcement at South Lane, Hoylandswaine on 30/11/2011 - no vehicles found to be travelling above 22mph.

No speeding check's carried out due to inclement weather.

 

On 23/2/2012 Penistone SNT carried out speed checks and high visibility reassurance on Green Road, Penistone and Roughbirchworth Lane, Oxspring. A total of 57 vehicles were speed checked. Only one on Green Road was found to be exceeding the 30mph speed limit at 34mph. the driver was stopped and advised.

 

 

On 29th March 2012 officers from Penistone safer neighbourhood team in company with safety camera partnership combined to carry out speed checks at the following locations.

1. Huddersfield Road, Ingbirchworth where 138 vehicles were checked and none were found to be exceeding the 40mph speed limit. 1 vehicle was stopped and the driver advised in relation to wearing a seatbelt

2. Mortimer Road, Cubley where 82 vehicles were checked. 1 driver was advised, 1 driver was issued with a fixed penalty ticket and 1 driver was offered a speed awareness course.

3. Sheffield Road, Oxspring where 71 vehicles were checked, 1 vehicle was issued with a fixed penalty ticket and 3 drivers were offered speed awareness courses.

Further operations are planned for the near future

 

On Wednesday 11th April 2012 Penistone SNT and officers from B group response combined with safety camera partnership to carry out spped checks in PACT priority areas,

The first area was Green Road at Penistone where 110 vehicles were checked. 1 driver was advised, 1 was issued with a fixed penalty ticket and 4 were offered speed awareness courses.

The second area was Sheffield Road, Oxspring where 159 vehicles were checked, 3 were advised, 1 was issued with a fixed penalty ticket, 4 were offered speed awareness courses and 1 male was arrested for possession of a large amount of cannabis

Further operations are planned for the future.
