There are issues on the park with youths causing a nuisance and setting fires.  There are similar issues with nuisance behaviour on the surrounding streets.  There are also concerns regarding drug dealing from addresses in the vicinity.

Fires on the park are late evening and into the night, as are the majority of youth issues on the park.  The ASB and drug dealing on the streets has no specific pattern of times and dates.

The Mexborough Safer Neighbourhood Team have attended Schofield Park to see if there were any groups drinking in this area due to it getting dark earlier. A group of youths ran from the police including a male on an off road bike. The Mexborough quad bike intercepted the off road bike whilst the police cyclists stopped the youths who were drinking. Alcohol was seized and two young persons will be subject to alcohol ABC referrals. These areas will be checked by the SNT in the evenings utilising our quad and pushbikes which allow us to check the areas you can get to by car.There is a DPPO in force for Mexborough which prohibits drinking alcohol in public places.

I am affraid to say that there are still a number of issues around this area with anti social behaviour and neighbour disputes. I have depolyed staff in this area throught the week including staff working nights to cover the issues in the evening. The Neighbourhood Response Team are also making patrols in the area. The Mexborough SNT have been involved in a number of arrests this week there have been two seperate cannabis cultivations found and the suspects arrested and released on bail.

PCSO's have been making high profile patrols in this area no drug dealing witnessed. however we have seen an increase in anti social behavoiur from youths in the area throwing fireworks and eggs at peoples windows. SNT officers have been into all schools in the area and made presentations regarding the dangers fireworks and the consequences of playing with them.

Friday 18th November 2011

Patrols have been made on Schofield park today which was being used by young people. There were some young people who ran away in possession of alcohol but they were stoped by the police quad and the alcohol seized.  Any young person found in possesion of alcohol is subject to a report to the council re their possession of alcohol.

The police quad was deployed onto Schofield Park this evening there were some young people on the park but there wasn't any alcohol being consumed.  There were foot patrols conducted throughout the evening.

Local SNT officers have been patrolling Schofield Park today. There were a few alcohol cans and bottles in the park so drinking alcohol is still happening in this area.

The Mexborough PACT meeting was held this evening where it was decided by the public that this priority would remain in force for the next month although it was acknowledged that it was a lot quieter in this area.

Tuesday 13th December 2011

SNT staff were on foot patrol on Lower Dolcliffe Road, Mexborough where they could smell cannabis coming from an address.  As a result of this a warrant was executed at the property and a quantity of cannabis plants recovered.  One person was arrested and is now on bail.

Friday 23rd December 2011

Local SNT officers have been conducting patrols in this area where it was very quiet.  On patrol one person was advised to turn his music down which was much too loud for the time of night. There was a report of the smell of cannabis coming from a house but this proved negative.

Wednesday 4th January 2012

At the end of December, local SNT officers were involved with the seizure and dismantling of several cannabis cultivations in the Mexborough area.  Properties on Lower Dolcliffe Rd, Cedar Ave, Belmont Street and Thirlmere Court were targetted.  This resulted in 3 charges and 1 caution for cannabis cultivation. The cannabis totalled a street value of around £50,000.

This evenings PACT Meeting was well attended and at the meeting it was agreed that this priority would remain on for a further month. 

Friday 13th January 2012

The Neighbourhood Response Team also patrolled throughout the first half of the month, below are listed their results:

Reports to the Neighbourhood Response Team (NRT) of noise nusiance on Dodsworth Street.  NRT attended and a Noise Nuisance Order was given.  All music was turned off before the officers left.

Wednesday 18th January 2012

On Monday 16th January PCSO's Flavell and Eley responded to a 999 call on Hampden Rd, Mexborough.  Reports came in of 2 males breaking into the rear of a property.  As the officers arrived, the males were seen to be leaving via the french doors with bags of stolen property and electrical goods.  Whilst 1 of the males made good his escape, the officers detained the other male. Other stolen items were recovered in an alley way close to the said property

Friday 20th January 2012

Local SNT officers have worked evening shifts throughout the week.  All Pact priorities have been patrolled regularly each evening,no issues raised.

The SNT has received several reports of nuisance motorbikes recently.  A dedicated motorbike operation has been arranged within the next 2 weeks.

In the early hours of this morning, local SNT officers detained a male on Pym road at Mexborough.  The male had previously made good his escape from other officers.  He was detained for driving whilst over the prescribed limit and for no insurance held on his vehicle.

All Pact priorities and hotspot areas patrolled by vehicle and on foot .

Two warrants executed today in respect to stolen property and drugs.  A quantity of cannabis was recovered and a hydrauponics set up dismantled.  Properties at Pitt street and York street were involved.

A male detained earlier this month by PCSOs for burglary pleaded guilty at court.  He has been remanded in custody with the view of a 4/5 year sentance.

Wednesday 1st February 2012

Today PC Oglesby and PCSO Gibson visited St Johns primary school on Sedgefield way.  They gave a talk to KS1 pupils on the topic 'People who help us'.  They gave a demonstration using the police car, quad, handcuffs, hats and batons.  The children really enjoyed the afternoon and all entered a competion to design a brightly coloured police uniform.

During the evening of 18th January, a forcewide wildlife operation was underway.  'Op Dunlin' concentrated on wildlife crime i.e poaching, coarsing etc.  All rural and farmland areas of West were patrolled by vehicle and on foot several times throughout the evening.

On Sunday 29th January,local officers deviated their shifts in order to conduct a motorbike operation.

Schofield Street and surrounding area was patrolled between the hours of 9am and 10pm by members of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team.  No incidents reported at this time.

Friday 3rd February 2012

Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team deviated shifts to combat anti-social behaviour and worked until 2am.  Throughout this shift Schofield Street was patrolled at regular intervals.  No incidents of note. 

Tuesday 7th February 2012

The Neighbourhood Response team patrolled Schofield Street and surrounding areas at 20.23.  There was nothing to report at this time. 

Throughout this evening the Neighbourhood Response Team had 3 positive engagements with youths in the Mexborough area who were acting in an anti-social manner.  The youths were spoken to and their parents visited.

At this evenings PACT meeting it was agreed that this priority would remain for a further month.  It was brought to our attention that a Caravan had been parked in the Street and someone appeared to be living in it.  Members of DMBC were to look into this.

Schofield Street and surrounding area patrolled by officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team throughout their tour of duty (8am x 5pm).  There were no issues at this time.

Saturday 11th February 2012

Area patrolled throughout the night by the Neighbourhood Response Team at regular intervals.  No signs of any youths causing anti-social behaviour, all was quiet.

Schofield Street and surrounding area patrolled by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team throughout their tour of duty (1pm x 10pm).  it was patrolled both on foot and mobile.

The area of Schofield Street was patrolled at regular intervals by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team throughout their tour of duty (8am x 6pm).  No incidents of note at this time.

Several directed mobile patrols were carried out on Schofield Street and surrounding area between the hours of 6pm and 10pm by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team.    

Thursday 23rd February 2012 

Local SNT Officers worked closely with our collegues from the traffic department last week to combat traffic offences in Mexborough.  Joint patrols were carried out all over the Mexborough area in response to concerns raised at the most recent PACT meeting.  Ten tickets were issued throughout the operation for offences such as obstruction, parking on double yellow lines/zig zag lines(outside schools) and driving/parking in pedestrian zones. Many drivers were spoken to and given advice also.

Officers recieved several reports of noise nusiance from Dodsworth Street and Neighbourhood Response Team have also responded several times. The councils' environmental health officer attended and issued a noise abatement notice.

Saturday 25th February 2012

PCSO Flavell has today liased with DMBC and arranged a litter pick for a group of Mexborough teenagers.  The youths have all previously been in trouble for various anti-social behaviour offences and each of the youths parents' permission was given beforehand.  All the teenagers involved turned up, were very enthusiastic and the litter pick was a great success.

Two of Mexboroughs SNT officers were today presented with the Chief Inspectors 'Good Work Minute'Aaward.  Officers Eley and Flavell were given the award at Davis House in Scawsby by T/Chief Inpector Tim Inness.  Both officers apprehended a prolific burglar on HamdenRroad, Mexborough in January.

Wednesday 7th March 2012

All pact priorities have been patrolled by both the NRT and the SNT.  Three male youths were stopped on Derwent Road, smelling strongly of cannabis.  The males were searched but no cannabis was found.  Details of the males were taken and ABC+ forms submitted.  There has been nothing of note at the other priorities.

Monday 12th March 2012

Over the weekend the Neighbourhood Response Team have attended several reports of noise nuisance in Mexborough.  Reports of loud music and shouting came from addresses on Wath Road, Highwoods Crescent, Taunton Gardens, Clayfield Close and Cowper Sstreet.  All addresses were patrolled regularly and warnings given to the occupants.

Schofield Street and surrounding area extensively patrolled throughout tour of duty by officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team between the hours of 1pm and 10pm.  No problems encountered at this time. 

Thursday 15th March 2012 

A report was received from the Neighbourhood Response Team giving an overview of all the positive engagements and patrols carried out during the last month.

  This showed that 13 patrols in total have been carried out within this area. 

Wednesday 21st March 2012

As part of her daily patrols, PCSO Flavell visited Ibbotsons Scrap Yard.  On arrival she encountered a male with a quantity of stolen cable.  Officer Flavell persued this male until he handed over the cable.  This male was arrested and detained shortly after by the districts dedicated scrap metal team.

The male that was caught  stealing the signage from Mexborough train station has now been charged.

Friday 23rd March 2012

Whilst on patrol on Schofield Street PCSS Dishman and PCSO Eley were approached by a male complaining about some local children who had been causing anti-social behaviour in and around Schofield Street for the past couple of nights.  Dishman and Ely did a good search of the area and made some enquiries regarding the children and some names were taken.  Further enquires to be made.

Monday 26th March 2012

Damien Noble was arrested on Saturday 24th March for Theft from Motor Vehicle.  Two hours after a theft had taken place Damien Noble was stopped and searched and found to be in possession of stolen goods.  He was remanded by court the following day. 

Wednesday 28th March 2012

An incident was reported regarding children lighting fires in the wasteland to the side of Schofield Park.  Officers from the local SNT and the Fire Brigade attended the area whereby there was evidence of three fires that had been started.  On arrival the children had dispersed.  Several youths spoken to who had seen 5 children running from the area, descriptions of the children given.     

Thursday 29th March 2012 

From the descriptions given of the children PCSO Flavell has spoken with some of the children and parents regarding the seriousness of starting fires.  The area will continue to be regularly patrolled by the both the SNT and the Neighbourhood Response Team. 

Friday 30th March 2012  

Schofield Street was patrolled by staff from the Safer Neighbourhood Team between the hours of 1pm and 10pm.  It was a busy evening on Schofield Street with several cans of alcohol confiscated and names and addresses taken.  Several groups of youths were also moved on from the area.  Schofield Street will continue to be monitored due to the increase in anti-social behaviour over the last few evenings.

Schofield Street and surrounding areas have been extensively patrolled by officers both on foot and in vehicles.  These patrols will continue throughout the evening by both the SNT and the NRT. 

At this evening's PACT meeting it was agreed that this would remain a PACT priority for the coming month.  The meeting was well attended with over 20 people in attendance. 

Thursday 19th April 2012 

Earlier this week warrants were served on both scrapyards in Mexborough.  This was part of a large operation throughout the force.  A large amount of scrap metal was recovered and 1 male was arrested.

Wednesday 25th April 2012

In the early hours of this morning reports came in of arson attacks in the Mexborough area.  The attacks took place at the Bhatia Centre and at the reception class of Windhill Junior School.  The SNT came on duty at 8.00am and arrested a male shortly afterwards.
