We asked:

The PACT (Partners And Communities Together) meeting for your area is held on the first Thursday of the month from 6pm to 7pm at Grenoside Community Centre, Main St, Grenoside. Your next PACT meeting is on the 4th August 2011 This is your chance to meet members of your local safer neighbourhood team and discuss issues that concern you about the area in which you live, and be a part of the tasking process for both the Police, and our partners who are also invited to the meeting to discuss issues that may not be a Policing matter.

What if I can’t attend a PACT meeting?

You can still get involved! Open the GET IN TOUCH section, which is situated on YOUR AREA site and e-mail your team with detail of what you want them to know. They will then keep you updated about what they are planning to do about it.

Local officers are continuing to increase the number of new neighbourhood watches in the area, we are pleased to announce that additional ones have been established. These include the following; Meadow Drive, Chapel Road,Chapel Close, along with Hawkins Close & Drake Close. 2 NHW were set up on Stewart Road, Burncross and Bracken Hill, Burncross.

Officers have also set up 'No Cold Calling Zones' in and around the area. A 'No Cold Calling Zone' is pretty much exactly how it sounds, it is an area designated by SYP and Trading Standards which advises any would be cold callers that they are not welcome. A NCCZ was set up on Berryholme Drive, Burncross.

You may also be interested to know that the local PCSO for High Green, PCSO Sara Beardshall, has set up 3 new NHW schemes in th High Green area. The new schemes are up and running on Charles Square, Newgate Close and Angram Road.

Also, local PCSO's whilst on high visibility foot patrols within the local area have found on average 100 vehicles which were left with items on display making them vulnerable to be broken into. Letters sent out to vehicle owners making them aware of this.
