There have been a number of small fires set during the night in the Highfields estate
Concern was raised about the frequency and locations of these fires in a small number of streets within the estate.
This was originally identified in November 2010. A significant amount of partnership work was undertaken.
This included fire service enquires, letter drop, council wardens patrol, both overt and covert police patrols, NRT tasking.
SNT Update 20th April 2011
Over the past few months the Safer Neighbourhood Team have letter dropped local residents in the Highfields Estate area and have also increased their patrols. No ASB fires have been seen or reported during this time so we are confident that due to our action this PACT priority can now be closed.
The next PACT meeting will be on Wednesday 11th May at 18:30hrs
Between 1130pm and 5am
The offences stopped prior to December.
However over Christmas and New year there were 3 more fires. The local SNT have instigated further patrols and enquires in the area.
There have been several operations that have included patrols in the area.
This has included community involvement and the positioning of Street based cameras (Domehawk).
Since this further sustained apporach there have been no further instances
