Regualr patrols continue by both Edlington SNT and the Neighbourhood Response Team. It is clear from our patrols and from feedback from the neighbourhood response team that the incidents of youths congregating outside Tescos and the surrounding area seem to be reducing.
Edlington SNT together with our partners have recently secured authorisation for a section 30 dispersal notice to go ahead in Edlington which will give the Police extra powers to deal with groups of young people wandering the streets intent on committing Anti-Social behaviour. Some of these extra powers include being able to exclude persons from entering a specific area for a period of time who do not live within that area. It also gives the Police powers to remove young people under 16 back to their home address if they are out on the streets after 9pm.
It is proposed that the dispersal notice will come into force by Mid April 2012 and further updates will be given nearer the time and at your local PACT meeting.
25/3/12 to 1/4/12
Edlington SNT together with the Neighbourhood response team have conducted numerous patrols in the vicinity in the past week mainly between the hours of 7pm and 11pm. There has been a noticeable reduction in the number of young people gathering in the locality and also in the number of Anti-Social behaviour related incidents reported.
Patrols will continue by both the NRT and the local SNT. The Edlington section 30 Dispersal notice is due to come into force in the area from 12/4/12. Further detail of this will be published nearer the time.

Some small groups present but not causing sufficient issue to warrant dispersal under the sec 30 dispersal notice regulations. patrols to continue. Wednesday 9th May 2012
ASB outside Tesco Edlington patrols made, 19 patrols made, 1 NRT Engagements
10/5/12 to 15/5/12
Extra patrols have been conducted by numerous police and partner resources during this period to ensure enforcement of the new Section 30 order currently in place for this PACT priority area.
Police officers, including members of the special constabulary have deviated their duties to ensure Police stafff are on the ground as much as possible during the busiest times where it has been shown incidents of Anti-Social behaviour are greatest.
The Neighbourhood Response team have also conducted extensive patrols in the area over this period, patrolling vitually every night.
Police incidents show a marked decrease in the number of Anti-Social behaviour related incidents in this area since the increased patrols since the introduction of the section 30 legislation.
Edlington SNT have used the legislation on 3 occasions so far, since its introduction in Edlington and have issued specific groups/individuals with dispersal maps and have directed them to leave the area. This proved very effective in that incidents of ASB have reduced considerably.
Further patrols are to continue
