A meeting has taken place with residents to identify the problem households.  We are tracing private landlords for those houses and will be looking to encourage the landlords to exercise their responsibilities to the residents around their problem tenants.

Dearne SNT will be patrolling daily and the Barrnsley Response Officers working from Wombwell will provide 24 hour cover.

The SNT is also looking at covert enquiries to deal with the problems.

The SNT is working with positively with an influential social landlord to sort out a problem household on Cooperative Street.  It is planned that the occupiers will be removed and the premises temporarily shittered up. Updated - 1st August 2010

Comments are being received from residents on the streets saying that the situation is improving.  Thanks, but the job is far from being finished. - 1st August 2010.

Questionnaires have been distributed within the area regarding residents' concerns over alcohol use and Anti Social Behaviour.  This is part of an ongoing projct by Dearne SNT with regard to longer term work on thse issues.  Further details regarding this will be published shortly and residents are encouraged to return the questionnaires so that their views can be taken into consideration.
