what issues concerned you most in your area
during the last dearne pact meeting held on thursday 18th august 2011, members of the thurnscoe community raised concerns over continuing problems in the marlborough close, chapple street and houghton road areas of thurnscoe. many of the incidents concenred anti-social behaviour from groups of youths gathering at various locations within these areas. they were often intimidating and abusive to other members of the public
key times were during evenings and mainly at weekends, although problems had increased during warm periods.
the area already has a prohibition from alcohol being consumed in public areas and the snt will continue to enforce the prohibition and confiscate any alcohol in possesion of under 18 year olds.
the snt will increase high visibilty patrols within the area at key times
operation brahm is on going and targetting the problems with criminal damage within the thurnscoe area. officers in plain clothes will be targetting vulnerable areas and challenging asb and criminal activity
