Speeding in the Cudworth SNT area. This was agreed at the PACT meeting held on 18th June 2010. The areas highlighted were:

 

Brierley road past Willowgarth School.

 

Thurnscoe lane, Great Houghton.

 

Dog Hill, Shafton.

 

Pontefract road, Cudworth.

 

Burton Road will continue to be monitored at this time.

Speed enforcement and education days.

Results:

116 vehicles checked over all the sites -14 advice letters to send out and 1 speed awareness course.

3 x referrels for speed awareness course

Tuesday 25th May.
In oder to target speeding motorists and educate them regarding the dangers of speeding, Cudworth SNT conducted a 'smiley sid' operation on Dog Hill near to Shafton school.
15 pupils from Shafton J&I school assisted.
17 motorists were advised for travelling at above the 30mph speed limit .
Thursday 10th June
speed enforcement day, Wheetshaw lane specifically targeted.
20 vehicles checked. 5 travelling between 35 - 36mph and will recieve advice letters.
1 ROS travelling 39 mph
14th June
Brierley road targeted - 1 ticket
2 x speed awareness course
9 advice letters.
15th june
Dog hill, Brierley rd and Common Road targeted.
12 advice letters
5 ROS.
Saturday 19th June worked with duty group -

9 advice letters issued, 1 ticket, 2 ROS and one arrest OPL

Tuesday 29th June

UNIPAR training for two officers conducted on Pontefract Road, 20 vehicles checked all within 30 mph speed limit.

Sunday 18th July speed enforcement day concetrated on Darfield Road 2 x ROS for speed awareness course and 9 verbal warnings issued. 1 x Endorsable FP ticket

Tuesday 20th July Smiley sid at Milefield school. 16 motorists adviced.

Thursday 22nd July - joint operation with safer camera partnership.
