Antisocial behaviour and street drinking in the vicinity of the Hickleton Street, Shepherds Close and Reresby Walk areas of Denaby
Additional patrols in the area concentrating on the sale of alcohol to young persons from the Off License.
Test purchase operation carried out and a £80 penalty fine given out to staff selling alcohol to a minor. The Off Licence was then referred to Police and Council licensing.
At the PACT meeting on 9th April 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
Consultation with the council over the alley to the rear of Hickleton street re the litter and nuisance in progress. The alleyway is unadopted by the council and work is to continue.
Regular visits to the Off Licence and checks done on young persons re the purchase of alcohol.
A large amount of alcohol seized at weekends resulting in an application for a Designated Public Place Order (DPPO) to combat street drinking.
At the PACT meeting on 7th May 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
8th May 2009. Extensive patrol by the SNT in Denaby resulted in a large quantity of alcohol seized from young persons under 18 years of age. A large group of youths were removed from the football field and will receive warning letters under the ABC+ scheme (Acceptable Behaviour Contract).
9th May 2009. Follow up patrols from previous evenings and work to identify flytipping offenders.
22nd/23rd May 2009 Extensive foot patrol carried out by Officers around the area with a significant quantity of alcohol taken off young people. The young persons parents will all receive a letter about the behaviour of their child.
At the PACT meeting on 4th June 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
Weekend patrols 12th to 15th June 2009 to deter young persons from buying alcohol and gathering around the bungalows. Foot and cycle patrols conducted by police and a small amount of alcohol confiscated.
17th June 2009 Following complaints of off road bikes on Hickleton Street, two off road bikes were seized under police powers.
A moped was also seized after complaints of it being ridden on the pavement around St Chads Sq. The rider was found to have no licence or insurance, he was issued a £200 fixed penalty notice and the moped was seized under 'Operation Takeaway'.
24th and 25th June 2009. Patrol by PC's France and Black around the area resulted in the confiscation of alcohol from young persons and arrangements made for letters to be sent to their parents.
At the PACT meeting on 2nd July 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
The street lights on Hickleton Street are to be modified so 'Domehawk' CCTV cameras can be fitted and used to monitor the problems on the street.
At the PACT meeting on 6th August 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
Photographs taken of nuisance off road bike riders using Hickleton Street will be displayed at the PACT meeting so that members of the community can identify the offenders.

Following further complaints about this location, at the PACT meeting, a 'Domehawk' cctv camera was place on Hickleton Street to monitor antisocial behaviour, however the camera suffered damage and was removed for repair. It will shortly be re-installed.

A strong police presence has been made on Hickleton Street to dissuade the local youths from purchasing alcohol.
At the PACT meeting held on 12th November 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority and to continue to patrol Reresby Walk and the surrounding area.
Two Domehawk cctv cameras are to be placed on Hickleton street and surrounding area. A site survey is to be carried out on 19th November 2009 to identify suitable locations.
Friday 27th November 2009 Operation Staysafe targeting vulnerable young persons throughout Conisbrough and Denaby, part of the patrol taking place in Denaby in which young persons were engaged and given advice re health and alcohol.
Saturday 28th November 2009 additional patrols of Reresby walk area following complaints of youths congregating and causing problems for residents.
Sunday 6th December 2009 high profile patrols around Reresby Walk and adjoining streets.
Saturday 12th December 2009 Denaby Christmas Market held with a very good attendance from the community.
At the PACT meeting on 7th January 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
The SNT have carried out public order patrols throughout the area carrying out licencing checks in partnership with Environmental Health.

At the PACT meeting on 4th February 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
Due to the increase of reported incidents on Reresby Walk the patrol has been focused on this area and has seen a marked decrease in incidents.

Checks on licensed premises and patrols continued.
At the PACT meeting on 8th April 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.
Further checks on off licence sales carried out by trading standards and Police. A new way of dealing with young persons drinking alcohol has been introduced in the Doncaster area.
1st time - they will receive an alcohol-warning letter, delivered, by the Police, to their parents. 2nd time- they will be asked to sign an acceptable behaviour contract or in extreme circumstances it may be appropriate to seek an ASBO on conviction. 3rd time or more within a 12-month period - they may be prosecuted and could face up to a £500 fine. Also it may be appropriate to seek an ASBO on conviction if circumstances are serious enough.

Friday afternoons and evenings appear to be the main times young persons are trying to but alcohol. Police officers and PCSO's have patrolled the area heavily during these times with some success. Some young persons have now taken to hanging out outside Netto, which will also be targetted.

Regular policing of the off licence is reducing problems on Hickleton Street and surrounding area.

This PACT priority was retained after the PACT meeting on the 6th August 2010.
The Safer Neighbourhood Team have been providing uniformed patrols on Hickleton Street each Friday to prevent young people congregating outside the 'off licence'.
A number of young people have been directed to the ABC+ scheme which is a means of engaging with them to direct them away from anti social behaviour.
There has been a test purchase operation and the local 'off licence' for this month have all passed.
A Neighbourhood Watch scheme is being initiated by the Safer Neighbourhood Team & local residents to provide local support.
The garage site on Hickleton Street has been subject to fires in which rubbish has been set alight. The fireservice have been working with the police providing cycle patrols within this area to highlight and deal with potential hazards.
This PACT priority was retained after the PACT meeting on the 3rd September 2010.
Patrols have continued on Friday evenings and young people are being signposted to the local Youth Club which is open each Friday for them to utilise the facilities.
A Designated Public Place Order should be inforce this October 2010 which will prohibit drinking alcohol in public places and those who do not adhere to this will be prosecuted.
St Leger housing have had fencing erected on Hickleton Street and the respective streets at the request of local people who wanted the fencing to provide tangible bounderies.
The Denaby & Conisbrough PACT meeting was held 2pm Harrogate Court on the 7th October 2010 where it was decided that this priority would remain. A neighbourhood watch is to be set up within this community and there is potential funding to be found so that the garage site at the bottom if Hickleton street can be secured. The DPPO is now inforce which prevents the drinking of alcohol in public places.
The next PACT meeting will be held at the Ivanhoe Centre , Conisbrough at 7 pm on the 11th November 2010.

There has been numerous police patrols on Hickleton Street and the surrounding streets to enforce the DPPO (Street drinking) . There were several persons on the street during the evening but there were no persons drinking alcohol. All groups have been engaged by the police to inform them of the new order which is in place.
Also the Special Patrol Group has been assisting the local SNT officers within this area. A bus has been used to travel the local bus routes and police officers have been able to identify any 'street drinkers' or persons causing anti social behaviour. 48 warnings have been issued to persons re 'street drinking' & two £50.00 fixed penalty tickets issued.

There have been further patrols this evening but due to the enfocement yesterday the Denaby area has been very quiet with no reports or sightings of 'street drinking'.

The uniformed patrols have continued through out the evening it is once again quiet with no reported issues.
Friday 31st October 2010 to 6th November 2010
Licensing checks have been conducted throughout Denaby & Conisbrough with one 'off licence' failing and the member of staff receiving a fixed penalty ticket. This premise was not in Denaby.
There have been a number of activities for local young persons to be able to enjoy their free time. As 40+ young people were taken from our community to 'Lightwater Valley' with free entrance and a meal provided and travel. It was well received.This event took place on the 31st October 2010 and was organised and run by the SNT.
The Tom Hill youth club provided 'lazer quest' and a bbq on the 4th November 2010. Once again there was alot of interest by the local young people thus providing them with entertainment and food.
Whilst these activities were ongoing the Neighbourhood Response Team , CSW's & the police provided patrols within the community to make sure that there were few instances of anti social behaviour.
This PACT area was quiet with very few reports of ASB.
One male was arrested at the Tom Hill youth club on the 5th November 2010.
For October 60+ persons have been given a warning re the DPPO which prohibits 'street drinking' and 3 persons have been issued with fixed penalty tickets.

PACT meeting held at the Ivanhoe Centre 7pm this evening. The same three priorities have been retained and the next meeting will be at 2 pm on the 2nd December 2010.

The PACT meeting for today has been cancelled due to the extreme weather we have all been experiencing. This priority will remain in force for this month. I will be publishing the dates for the 2011 PACT meetings once I have been able to secure the venues.

There have been PCSO bike patrols on Hickleton Street this evening. There were some youths on the street but they were not in possession of alcohol.

Two new PCSO's have been posted to work Denaby providing a visible presence around Denaby the officers are PCSO Jodi Crossley & PCSO Kayleigh Hickman .
Tuesday 8th March 2011 - At the PACT meeting it was decided that this priority be closed. There were two incidents reported this month and 5 last month from one source. Neighbourhood Alliance is coming to Denaby on the 3rd May 2011 to the 21st May 2011.
