Concern about Anti-social behaviour, street drinking, and nuisance around the Conisbrough village centre in an evening.

We did: 

Lamppost CCTV cameras installed to monitor behaviour around the village centre around pubs and areas where young persons congregate.

Police patrols have confiscated a large amount of alcohol from young people, particularly at the weekend.

At the PACT meeting on 9th April 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

High profile policing of the town centre, with mobile and foot patrols. Continued use of 'Domehawk' CCTV system.

Licensing checks at town centre pubs in Conisbrough.

Arrest of two prolific shoplifters who were targeting town centre shops. resulting in the detection of numerous crimes and their eviction from accommodation.

At the PACT meeting on 7th May 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority and to extend the scope of the priority to include the displaced anti-social  behaviour further in the village.

8th May 2009 - Extensive patrol by the SNT in Conisbrough resulting in a large quantity of alcohol seized from young persons under 18 years of age and 39 stop and account forms and  ABC+ scheme (Acceptable Behaviour Contract)notices issued.

9th May 2009 - Town centre patrolled with follow up work from previous evening.

At the PACT meeting on 4th June 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority

Foot patrol by PCSO Webster and Abel in the village center has led to a reduction in the problems with youth nuisance.

The CCTV camera footage has been reviewed and does not show any problems.

At the PACT meeting on 2nd July 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

No real problems around the town centre, but the PACT priority to remain to monitor problems as the schools break up and young persons have more free time.

At the PACT meeting on 6th August 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority. It was discussed at the PACT meeting that the PACT area is to be expanded to include The Oval, as anti-social behaviour is being moved from the village centre out to surrounding areas.

At the PACT meeting held on 3rd September 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

The decision by the local schools to keep pupils in school during all breaks is having a positive effect on the fear of anti-social behaviour in the village centre during the day. During the evening Police and warden patrols will continue.

At the PACT meeting on 8th October 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority. However the feeling was that the situation was improving.

At the PACT meeting held on 12th November 2009, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority as the displaced anti-social behaviour is now emerging on Daylands Avenue. Patrol of Daylands Avenue and the Squares to continue.

Friday 27th November 2009 Operation Staysafe targeting vulnerable young persons throughout Conisbrough, part of the patrol taking place on Church Street, in which young persons were engaged and given advice re health and alcohol. During the patrol a male was arrested for assaulting a female outside 'Cromwells' public house.

Saturday 5th December 2009 Conisbrough Christmas Market which was well attended by the local community.

Sunday 6th December 2009 footpatrols in the town centre around Sainsbury's supermarket and the adjacent shops.

Friday 11th December 2009 footpatrols in the town centre , rear of the shops checked and Sainsbury's car park.

26th December 2009 Public order van for Conisbrough centre.

At the PACT meeting on 7th January 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

Throughout January public order patrols from the SNT in Conisbrough centre and pub licensing checks in partnership with Environmental health.

29th January 2010 - Mobile patrols carried out and Licensing checks by Conisborough Safer Neighbourhood Team. As a result of enquiries made, the Eagle and Child was not allowed to trade due to issues with the Premises Licence.

30th January 2010 -Mobile patrols of the town centre. Further Licensing checks carried out. The Eagle and Child remained closed.

 At the PACT meeting on 4th February 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

Regular patrol fom SNT staff together with the response officers who have now moved back to work from Mexborough police station.

A new Domehawk cctv camera has been purchased by the elected members for use in Conisbrough/Denaby area and will be put in the village centre when available.

At the PACT meeting on 4th March 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

Arangements made for the installation of the CCTV camera.

At the PACT meeting on 8th April 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

Foot patrols and licensing operations in the village centre looking at drinking and nuisance behaviour.

At the PACT meeting on Thursday 6th May 2010, it was agreed to keep this location as a priority.

The Domehawk CCTV camera is now up in the village centre and fully operational.

At the PACT meeting on Thursday 3rd June 2010 it was decided to keep this as a district priority.

Officers have attended reports of youths playing football in the Library car park and other minor anti-social behavior in the village centre.

At the PACT meeting on Thursday 6th July 2010 it was decided to keep this as a district priority.

SNAP meetings are held each month in the car park at Sainsbury's where members of the public are invited to me the police to discuss local issues. There was one held on the 1st July 2010 between 1-2 pm.

At the PACT meeting on the 6th August 2010 this priority was retained.

A public order van has been present with Conisbrough town centre for the Friday & Saturday nights.

Police surgery to be held at the Ivanhoe centre 10-12 pm on the 22nd September 2010 please come and speak toyour Safer Neighbourhood Team.

The Designated Public Place Order will be in force for Conisbrough in October 2010 which will make it an offence to drink in a public place.

The Conisbrough & Denaby PACT meeting was held at Harrogate Court  2pm on the 7th October 2010. It was decided at this meeting that this priority would remain in force. The next PACT meeting is the be held at 7pm on the 11th November 2010 at the Ivanhoe Centre , Conisbrough.

The DPPO is now in force which prevents drinking in public places this will be enforced.

Friday 8th October 2010

The Special Patrol Group have assisted the local SNT by patrolling the main bus routes on a bus. As a result of this 48 warnings have been issued to persons drinking in the street. Two £50.00 fixed penalty tickets were also issued. If a person is warned about drinking in the street and they continue to do it they will received a fixed penalty ticket.

Saturday 9th October 2010

The patrols have contiuned to enforce the DPPO. There were people drinking on the Ivanhoe Fields & in the Mill Piece where a quantity of alcohol was seized and also a quantity of cannabis. These patrols will continue.

Friday 15th October 2010

Further patrols of Conisbrough town centre have been conducted , Mill Piece , Ivanhoe fields and adjoining streets. There has been a build up of young people in the town centre but they have not been drinking.   

Friday 31st October 2010 to Saturday 6th November 2010

There have been a number of activities set up for the young people of Conisbrough. 40+ young people were taken to lightwater Valley on the 31st October 2010 , in which there was free travel, entry to the site and a meal.

On the 4th October 2010 'laser quest' came to the Tom Hill youth club providing the young people an activity and food. Once again this was well attended and an opportunity for the young people of Conisbrough to off the streets where they are in a safe environment.

Patrols have been conducted by the SNT staff supported by the Community Safety Wardens and in an evening the NRT patrol.

Licensing checks have been conducted on the 'on' & 'off' licence premises with one off licence failing a 'test ' purchase and also one of the local public houses resulting in a fixed penalty ticket being issued to the respective premises.

A group of youths were congregating outside Sainbury's in the town centre on the 4th November 2010 SNT staff informed them about the laser quest at the Tom Hill youth club and free food. The group stated they didn't want to walk there. The SNT staff offered the group transport to the venue but the group still declined the offer.

The PACT meeting has been cancelled for today due to the extreme weather we are all suffering. This priority will remain the same for this month. I will be publishing the PACT dates for 2011 once I have been able to secure the venues.

A public order van has been patrolling Conisbrough town centre throughout December to assit in monitoring the patrons of the local public houses.

A person was arrested by the Conisbrough SNT for causing criminal damage to one of the Conisbrough town centre shop windows. Blood was left at the scene and the suspect was traced via the DNA database. The suspect has been charged and bailed to appear before Doncaster Magistrates Court .

 A 'trojan bus' operation was conducted this evening looking for anyone drinking alcohol in  public places. Conisbrough town centre was initially quiet but there were some groups of young people congregating in the town centre. These groups were engaged by the police officers. No alcohol was confiscation within the town centre but on the local playing fields a number of young people were found in possession of alcohol and the DPPO was enforced.

Tonight Operation 'Staysafe' is being run in which the police and the social services will be patrolling  Conisbrough & Denaby to identify any of our young persons who may be out on the streets and potentially in danger whilst under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances. The town centre will be patrolled as will the local parks and the favourite hiding places within the Craggs.

Test purchsing has been made in several on and off liceces within Conisbrough. Those that are tested will be informed if they have been tested and passed and those that failed a total of 3 received fixed penalty tickets.

Police cycle patrols have been carried out in the town centre this evening there was a large group around the shops they have been spoken to. None were drinking. Efforts are being made to provide a youth club for Conisbrough o Friday evenings.

Footpatrols carried out this afternoon by the local beat manager in Conisbrough there were no issues to report.

The Trojan Bus has been out tonight in which a bus containing police officers and community safety wardens has been patrolling the local area. A number of youths were moved on from outside the entrance to Sainsbury's. There isn't a youth club on tonight due to the need for local volunteers so any help is appreciated if you would like to be involved.

There are no activities being held in Conisbrough for young persons on a Friday although 'Positive Futures' were providing football coaching on the Flower Park at Denaby between 7.30 & 9 pm. 

There were no persons found drinking in the town centre although as the bus went around the area one person received a fixed penalty ticket for drinking in the street in a street  just off the town centre.

Police Officers have conducted patrols in Conisbrough town centre to check specifically for anyone street drinking in the town and also drug dealing. One female was engaged with in the town centre and she in possession of alcohol but she was not drinking in the street. She subsequently left the town centre.

There have been reports of a group of moped riders using Sainbury's car park to congregate and to use the town centre as a race track. The local SNT are aware of this issue and we have issued 171 warnings where appropriate. This is a warning to the moped owners if they continue to ride in an anti social way there is a possibility that their moped may be seized . We have had reports of a male doing a wheelie through on the road and he has had his moped seized. It will only be released when the release fee is paid.

There have been patrols carried out this evening in the town centre with the report of youths on mopeds making a noise on Sainsbury's car park. The youths have been identified by the local SNT but at the time of speaking to them the youths were not using their mopeds nor committing any offences we could enforce , therefore they were advised and their behaviour monitored.

Local residents have raised the issue of mopeds being driven around Conisbrough town centre in an anti social way but doing 'wheelies' and skidding on the road plus the excessive noise they are making. The local Safer neighbourhood team have identified these riders and formal letters have been sent to the respective individuals stating that if their use of their mopeds isn't improved then 'positive action' will be taken aginst them.

There have been a number of lead thefts in Conisbrough including the town centre shops. SNT staff have been providing night patrols to reduce these offences. Two males were found stealing lead off a church roof and they have been charged with this offence and bailed to court.

We have also had theft of overhead cable from various locations and we have arrested a male on suspicion of these thefts and he is currently on bail.

SNT staff have been patrolling the town centre one male on a moped was issud with a fixed penalty ticket due to having a light out. There were groups of young people within the town centre and they were monitored by us.

Police officers patrolling Conisbrough disturbed three males who were involved in trying to steal one of the memorial plaques from the memorial park on Low Road. The police officers chased the males but lost them a dog was utilised to track the males and as a result of this the males were tracked to a building although the suspects could not be found. The plaque has been recovered and is currently with the SNT. The plaque is damaged and it will be retained until it can be examined to see whether it can be repaired. The plaque contains the names of 45 of our service presonnel who died in the war. If you know who was involved in this theft please contac the SNT on 01302 385178 we would like to catch these three people.

There has been alot police in the town centre Friday & Saturday due to there being continuous reports of mopeds being driven in an erratic manner doing 'wheelies' and riding on the pavement.  The registration plates of the offending mopeds have been collated and their behaviour recorded and this evening two  mopeds have been taken off the riders. Also a male driving a car failed to stop for a police officer on Friday evening has been interviewed and a prosecution is pending.

Special Constables attached to the SNT have been patrolling Conisbrough town centre this evening checking for anti social behaviour and street drinking.

The Regional Road Crime Unit have been in the town centre patrolling with particular attention being given to Sainsbury's car park and the vehicles being used locally. As a result of these  patrols two vehicles were seized for having no insurance.

Over the last 2 week this priority has been patrolled on a regular basis by SNT officers and also Traffic officers.

On Friday 28th October 2011 we received complaints regarding 2 mopeds in the town centre driving round in a dangerous manner, pulling wheelies and being a nuisance, We had 2 officers in plain clothes in the town centre who also witnessed this behaviour, the mopeds have since been seized under the Police Reform Act.

Another male who was caught driving his car in a dangerous manner in the town centre was reported on summons to court he has subsequently been banned for 6 months and 2 other males are pending for the same offence.

Uniformed SNT police officers have been patrolling Conisbrough town centre this evening where a female was arrested in the town centre . The female was drunk and in possession of alcohol in breach of the DPPO for Conisbrough. The alcohol was seized and she was subsequently arrested for a theft and taken out of the local area.

Uniformed SNT police officers were patrolling Conisbrough town centre where they found two males on mopeds racing in the town centre both males were stopped and they were subsequently issued with notices warning them of their future use of their mopeds.

The issue of mopeds being ridden around Conisbrough town centre is being addressed by the Local SNT.  In November 2011 there were 4 warning forms given to riders who were considered to be using their mopeds in an anti social manner and two bikes were subsequently seized . If you see any issues in the town centre please let us know. Also the new police number for reporting non-urgent incidents is 101 which has replaced the 01142-202020 number.

After recent reports of nuisance off road bikes,a red Honda as seized on Chestnut Grove.

During their evening patrols,the NRT engaged with a group of youths on Church Street.The youths were found to be drinking.The alcohol was seized and poured away,the youths were advised.

All week the SNT have been working on late shifts. All Pact priorities have been patrolled at regular intervals throughout the evenings.

Officers responded to a call regarding nusiance youths at Conisbrough library.  All youths were spoken to and their names taken.  The parents of the youths will be visited and ABC referrals will be made.

Criminal damage has recently been an area of challange for Conisbrough and Denaby.  However, statistical analysis has shown great improvement over the last few weeks.  In comparison to the first 2 weeks of January 2012, incidents of criminal damage are down 56%, only 7 incidents, where as previously there was 16.

Local police officers have recently detected and arrested 2 offenders of criminal damage in the Conisbrough/Denaby area.  These arrests were linked to offences around the Burcroft Hill area and at Stathes Walk.

In recent weeks, several plans were put into place to target the criminal damage issues.  Teams of "specials" officers were used on 19th/21st January in operations targetting the criminal damage hotspots of Conisbrough and Denaby.  Confirmation has been given from the Specials of continuing support, with further future operations planned.

We have also liased with our partners at the Neighbourhood Response Teams.  Their live tasking has incorporated the criminal damage hotspot areas of Conisbrough/Denaby, and their extra shifts/patrols have been invaluable.  On 25th January the NRT were called to an address in Conisbrough regarding Anti-Social behaviour, whereby a group of youths had been throwing things at a particular address.  The youths were dispersed and the NRT made contact again with the victim.  Again, this support is continued.

Doncaster West has recently secured funding for diversionary activites in Conisbrough/Denaby.  This will run over a 6 week period, its aim is to reduce incidents of ASB and Criminal damage.

Wednesday 1st February 2012

Over the weekend, 3 males were detained in Denaby.  Officers were responding to reports of intruders at the building site at Hesley Court and found the males stealing building equipment.  All three males were taken into custody.

On 18th January local officers took part in 'Operation Dunlin'.  This forcewide operation targetted wildlife crime i.e poaching, coarsing etc.  All rural and farmland areas of West were patrolled by vehicle and on foot regularly throughout the evening.

 

On Sunday 29th January, SNT officers deviated their shifts to conduct a motorbike operation covering Mexborough,Conisbrough and Denaby.

Thursday 2nd February 2012

Local officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team deviated from their normal shift pattern to work from 3pm until 0200 hrs to combat the anti-social behaviour and criminal damage that is occurring in and around the Town Centre.  Officers conducted high visibility foot patrols within the town centre and spoke to several groups of youths.

Again local SNT officers deviated from their normal shift pattern to work from 3pm until 0200 hrs.  Regular mobile and foot patrols were carried out in the Town Centre and surrounding area.  Several units of alcohol were confiscated throughout the evening and warnings issued regarding this.

Regular patrols carried out in Conisbrough Town Centre by officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team during their tour of duty 1pm x 10pm. 

Thursday 16th February 2012

Officers were called to a group of youths allegedly consuming alcohol and causing anti-social behaviour.  On arrival a small fire had been lit which was duly put out by the officers.  A group of youths were spoken to but none of these had consumed any alcohol.  They were advised to leave the area.

Whilst out on patrol in Conisbrough, officers stopped a male from street drinking in the town centre.  The male's details were obtained and the alcohol poured away.

Throughout this week, PCSO Crossley and PC Kelly are visiting Station Road junior and infant school.  The topics they are discussing with the children are transport safety, i.e wearing seatbelts and safely using public transpor

Whilst out on mobile patrol in Conisbrough, officers Eley and Cook detained a male using an off road motorbike.  The male was a disqualified driver therefore held no licence, MOT, Tax or Insurance  The officers seized the bike and, as this male is a prolific offender, the offences reported on summons and the male remanded.

Conisbrough Town Centre extensively patrolled during their tour of duty 12 midday x 11pm by officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team.  Although the town centre was busy there was no alcohol seized and no issues of note.

The town centre and surrounding area was patrolled by officers from the local SNT both on foot and mobile.  Several youths spoken to but no issues of anti-social behaviour.

Conisbrough Town Centre patrolled by the Neighbourhood Response Team throughout the evening 7pm x 6am at regular intervals.  No anti-social behaviour was witnessed at these times. 

Monday 5th March 2012

Officers from the local SNT carried out regular patrols throughout their tour of duty 8am x 5pm.  Several school children spoken to on their way home from school but no problems encountered.

Thursday 8th March 2012

Conisbrough Town Centre patrolled by the local SNT between the hours of 8am x 10pm.  Two PCSO's deviated their shift to deal with problems of anti-social behaviour in and around the Conisbrough area.  Several incidents called in but no major issues.

The Town Centre was patrolled both on foot and mobile between the hours of 1pm x 10pm by the local SNT.

The Town Centre has been regularly patrolled by the Neighbourhood Response Team throughout the weekend both during the day and at night.  Although the Town Centre was busy, and several groups liaised with, there were no incidents of note.

Tuesday 27th March 2012

Between Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th March Conisbrough town centre has been patrolled by officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Neighbourhood Response Team (NRT) between the hours of 7pm and 6am.  On Saturday 24th the NRT came across a large group of youths loitering in the Town Centre with open cans of alcohol.  The group were spoken to and moved on and the alcohol dispersed of.  Details of the youths were taken and passed onto the local SNT for further enquiries.

At this afternoon's PACT Meeting held at Harrogate Court, it was agreed that this would remain as a PACT priority for the forthcoming month.

Throughout the last week, Operation Gateway has been ongoing in Conisbrough.  Here, local officers have worked closely with Inspectors from the Stagecoach bus company in order to prevent the use of fraudulant bus passes and tickets.

Over the bank holiday weekend patrols of local hotspot areas have still been carried out by the NRT.  Officers have stopped several groups of youths on the streets of Conisbrough that have been seen to be drinking alcohol.  The alcohol has been poured away, details taken and DPPO advice given.

Local SNT officers today came across an abandoned vehicle on Park Road.  The orange coloured van was recovered and sent to scenes of crimes officers as it was believed to have stolen earlier today from a sneak in burglarly.

Reports of nusiance youths congregating at the castle have been received.  NRT officers have attened and spoken to several youths.  Their details were taken and ABC forms submitted.  All the youths were pupils of De Warren Acadamy.

Today local SNT officers are working alongside officers from the fire service as part of Operation Alliance.  This operation is ongoing in Conisbrough over the next couple of weeks,pooling the resources of DMBC, St Ledger, NRT, SNT and the fire service.

Because of Neighbourhood Alliance taking place in Conisbrough there has been a lot of activity within this area:

27th April and 3rd May - Mounted Police were out and about in Conisbrough covering specific areas which included the town centre. 

30th April and 2nd May - Joint cycle patrols took place between officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Fire Service covering all areas of Conisbrough but concentrating on Daylands Avenue, Elm Green Lane and The Oval. 

2nd May - ANPR Operation - Recovery took place of an uninsured and unlicenced vehicle
