Anti Social Behaviour on Southbourne Road
This priority was agreed at the meeting held at St Marks Church Broomhill on Thursday 30th September 2010.
Evenings between 9pm-4am
Regular patrols have been undertaken by officers from the SNA in relation to the matter since it was brought to the meeting by residents. They have been joined by Sheffield University security in providing a High Visable presence.
> 4 x students spoken to for rowdy behaviour. All entered into Restorative Justice.
> During 11th-18th December 2010 'Operation Kristingle' took place where Police staff worked until 4am. No issues to report.
* 20th Dec-14th Jan Students on Christmas vacation
> In the week 24th-29th January two Students were caught by University Security writing in the frost on a resident's car. Details were obtained from the pair and will now be dealt with through by the University.
* Following a joint meeting this last week between the Police, Sheffield University, The Good Neighbours Noise Team, and Cllr Mohammed, it was agreed to close the internal gate at Stephenson Block to reduce the foot fall onto Southbourne Rd. Residents have reported a 75% reduction in the amount of people on the said road.
In addition, for a short period the outer gate onto Westbourne Rd was also closed. This has now been reopened, but there have been no incidents reported of note.
> April 2011 Plans have been finalised for the end of term finish, where Police staff will be working into the early hours monitoring student behaviour.
> May 2011 One male student dealt with for rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour in the street. He will dealt with by way of Restorative Justice.
> 4th-11th June 2011 worked until 5am to monitor students behaviour. THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS REPORTED TO THE POLICE DURING THIS TIME IN THIS AREA.
> 12th June Although alot of Students have now vacated the halls of residence for the summer break, continued attention will be given to the Southbourne Rd.
This priority was originally agreed at the meeting Aheld at St Marks Church Broomhill on Thursday 30th September 2010.
The decision was made on Friday 24th June to remove this as a PACT priority.
