Burglary & Auto Crime in BROOMHALL & SHARROWVALE

During February and March, officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have been running Operation K-Accent tackling Burglary and vehicle crime in the area. Safer Neighbourhood Officers have been dedicated to patrolling your area up until 2 am in the morning on a daily basis.  This resulted in a reduction in crime and Anti Social Behaviour. There are however still continued patrols within the areas, by both uniformed and plain clothed officers.

Officers from your local Safer Neighbourhood team have over the last month issued over 100 VVS (vulnerable vehicle scheme) forms. These forms are issued when are officers come across a vehicle that is left with valuable items on display which make the vehicle an easy target for car criminals. The main items stolen are Sat Navs, Mobile phone and IPods, handbags etc. A letter is sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle informing them that an officer has witnessed the vehicle displaying items of value and advising them regarding crime prevention.
