Patrols made by council staff
The local school CYPO and Pcso's have assisted local children in a speed awareness operation on local car drivers. using the hand held speed camera to stop vehicles exceeding the speed limit. On the day the drivers were complimentry on the operation and none were more than a couple of miles over the limit.
24th November
Officers completed an operation (with partners) through the day looking at traffic, waste carriage, speeding, taxi, red diesel offences. Whilst no speeding offences were identified on the road. The days results included 2 vehicles being seized for using red diesel. And 1 car seized for no insurance.
3rd February 2012
We have conducted several speeding checks on both Jossey Lane and Amersall Road over the past weeks. Drivers of vehicles travelling in excess of the speed limit have been stopped and advised. Most of the offenders have been local residents of either Scawthorpe or Bentley and as a result of our intervention complaints of speeding vehicles have significantly reduced.
