what issues concerned you most in your area
There has been an increase in the amount of deliberate fires within the Bentley area over the past month. These fires include
1. nuisance/anti social behaviour related fires targeting vegetation on open/waste land, Community allotments, residential bins and dumped litter
2. criminal incidents targeting residential properties/garden fencing or connifers, abandonned/stolen vehicels and waste/recycling sites.

Over the past 2 months the Safer Neighbourhood Team have worked with Council partners and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue to tackle both those involved in fire related incidents and remove the source often used to start fires; i.e rubbish and fly tipping hot spots. As a result of this the numbers of 'secondary' fires over the last 2 months has significantly reduced. two children at bentley High Primary schools have been enroled as junior fire wardens following their involvement with fire incidents and one received a reprimand.
It was agreed at the PACT meeting on 31/08/10 to remove this priority. but it forms part of the key work of the nighbourhood team and SYF&R so although not one of the 3 priorities, it will continue to be addressed by the SNT as a whole.
