Tranmoor Lane, Armthorpe has a 20mph speed limit in place, with traffic calming measures on its length, consisting of speed bumps. Residents complain that motorists are driving excessively fast along Tranmoor Lane, in contravention of the speed limit. This happens at all times of day and night.

2nd September 2010 - At the PACT meeting held today, it was agreed to look at this issue over the coming weeks. Progress will be updated at the next meeting.

6th September 2010 -  Foot patrols have been carried out over the last few days at differing times of day. The last traffic survey carried out by Doncaster Council was in 2007, after traffic calming measures were implemented. This showed that the average speeds before the traffic calming was 31/32mph. After the measures had been implemented it had decreased to 28mph. Whilst there are no future plans to carry out a repeat traffic survey, Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team intend to use the hand held speed device at different times and day of the week. Community Safety Wardens will also be making use of the Digital Speed Display (DSD) Unit which warns motorists of their speed.

15th September 2010 - Speed enforcement checks carried out in Tranmoor Lane. 76 vehicles checked mid afternoon. All vehicles checked in the 20-23 mph speed range.

22nd September 2010- Speed enforcement checks carried out in Tranmoor Lane. 59 vehicles checked late afternoon. All vehicles checked were in the 20- 22 mph speed range.

27th September 2010 - Speed enforcement checks carried out this morning on Tranmoor Lane. 86 vehicles checked, the vast majority were recorded in the early 20-22  mph range. Maximum speed recorded 29mph. Officers reported no obstructions in the road to impede drivers exceeding the speed limit. Further checks to be carried out.

30th September 2010 - Speed enforcement checks carried out this morning. 160 vehicles were checked. Three vehicles were checked between 27mph and 32 mph. The drivers were spoken to and advised. At the PACT meeting held this evening, residents were updated about progress. It was agreed to look at this for one more month.

13th October 2010 - Speed enforcement checks carried out by Doncaster Council Community Safety Wardens this afternoon. All vehicles checked were in the range of 20-23mph.

14th October 2010 - Speed enforcement checks carried out by Doncaster Council Community Safety Wardens this morning. 36 vehicles were checked. Just two were found travelling at 28 and 24 mph respectively.

19th October 2010 - Speed enforcement checks were carried out this morning by Doncaster Council Community Safety Wardens. A total of 51 vehicles were checked. Eleven vehicles were checked travelling above the 20 mph speed limit, the highest being 33 and 31 mph. Follow up action will be taken, with letters being sent to the keepers of all the vehicles involved.

21st October 2010 - Speed enforcement checks were carried out by Doncaster Council Community Safety Wardens this morning. 62 vehicles were checked. 8 vehicles exceeeded the limit, with one travelling at 30mph. The remainder were in the region of 24-27mph.

28th October 2010 - At the PACT meeting held today, residents were updated about progress. It was agreed to archive this priority, although checks will continue to be carried out.
