We asked:

At the P.A.C.T. meeting on 5th May 2010, we asked: 'what issues concern you most in your area?'

The PACT (Partners And Communities Together) meeting for your area is held on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30pm at Guildford Grange, Guildford View (off Park Grange Road).  This is your chance to meet members of your Safer Neighbourhood Team and discuss issues that concern you, the area in which you live, and be a part of the tasking process for both the Police and our partners.

Three ‘cannabis factories’ have been discovered in the Arbourthorne area, with the drugs and cultivation equipment being seized.  Cannabis factories are homes or properties which have been converted for the use of growing the drug. The value of the three combined factories is well in excess of £200,000.

The Manor and Arbourthorne SNT are currently working very closely with Sheffield Homes and Neighbourhood Wardens, to tackle the issues affecting residents.

Both PCSOs and PCs have directed their patrols in to the area.  They have looked at being in the area during the times the anti-social behaviour has been reported.  These patrols have been in cars, on foot and on cycles.

Police Community Support Officers are supporting the Console Kids Club run by the local TARA.  This near by youth centre provides positive activities for local youths and in doing so, acts as an alternative to committing anti-social behaviour or becoming involved in criminal activity.  Officers not only attend the club themselves, but direct young people they meet whilst out in the area to the centre.

Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team are currently gathering information through observations and reports from local residents.  This will be used to take action against those involved in criminality.

Since May 1st 2010 there has been 4 reported incidents linked to this priority.
