At the Community meeting on 6th October 2010, we asked: 'what issues concern you most in your area?'
The Community meeting for your area is held on the first Wednesday of the month from 6:30pm at Guildford Grange, Guildford View (off Park Grange Road). This is your chance to meet members of your Safer Neighbourhood Team and discuss issues that concern you, the area in which you live, and be a part of the tasking process for both the Police and our partners.
Alcohol related anti-social behaviour on Edenhall Rd and gennel that connects to City Rd
All times.
A 'MoCam' (Mobile Camera mounted on a street lamp) has been utilised in the area. This is currently covering the road and gennel next to the Arbourthorne Centre. There is an additional camera located on the junction of Wulfric Road and City Road which views the gennel from the other end. This area has been reported at various times as being a hotspot for gatherings and anti-social behaviour. The footage from this camera has been utilised in active criminal investigations. The camera also acts as a deterrent to those involved in anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.
The Safer Neighbourhood Team is currently working closely with Sheffield Homes, Street Force, the Arbourthorne Centre and local residents in the area. Together they are taking measures to reduce anti-social behaviour and criminality in the area. This working group meets regularly to discuss any ongoing issues.
Both PCSO’s and PC’s have directed their patrols in to the area. They have looked at being in the area during the times anti-social behaviour has previously been reported. These patrols have been in cars, on foot and on cycles.
Update 18/05/11:
Operation KB-Assert commenced targeting youths drinking and causing anti-social behaviour. This involves officers acting on information received and also conducting high visibility patrols in and around Edenhall Road. So far there have been a large number of youths stopped and spoken to and details obtained with several being issued with parental advisory letters (PAL). South Yorkshire Police are working closely with partner agencies to deal positively with any persons found committing anti social behaviour.
