Second Bi-Weekly Report for South West Sheffield Safer Neighbourhood TeamLast report dated 30th April 2010:

 As of the 14th of May Inspector Ian Roberts has taken charge of the Sharrow and South West Teams.

 On Friday the 30th April the SW SNT conducted an operation with Officers from the ‘Traffic’ Road Policing Group, stopping and examining vehicles throughout the SW and Sharrow SNA areas.  Over 30 vehicles were stopped and examined. Several drug searches carried out and various enforcement notices and fixed penalty notices issued.

 On Friday evening 7th May the SW Team patrolled the SW area, Totley in particular.Officers dealt with a large group of youths reportedly ‘messing’ with a dumper truck on a building site (site of the old Dore Primary) . Two drunken teenagers were taken home to their parents and details of numerous other young people were obtained.

 On Sun 9th  May Sergeant CROSS, PC CADMAN, PC ATHA (from Broomhill SNA), 2 x Road Policing officers and several PCSOs teamed up with Peak Park wardens to conduct an operation targeting nuisance motor vehicles at Houndkirk Road and Redmires.

 Sergeant Cross attended the SW Partner Panel meeting at the Town Hall and received  thanks from local Councillors for the noticeable increased Police presence in Totley. 

 On Friday the 14th may  Police Officers and PCSO’s conducted high visibility foot and cycle patrols throughout Dore and Totley.

 The next South West PACT meeting is Wednesday the 19th of May at Ecclesall Library
