Acting on concerns raised by local residents in the Fox Hill area of Sheffield regarding drug related activity, offices from the Ecclesfield Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) executed five drug warrants during November and December.

The warrants were executed at addresses on  Gillott Road, Wilcox Road, Keats Road and Trafalgar Road. During the raids, police seized a substantial amount of what is believed to be cannabis plants and wraps of cannabis along with a quantity of class A drugs and drug related paraphernalia.

Eight arrests were made because of the warrants, two people have since been charged with production and possession of cannabis, and the remainder of the arrested people are currently on police bail pending further enquiries.

PC Lee Freeman who is the Fox Hill area constable said “These raids were carried out as a result of information from concerned members of the public. The Ecclesfield SNT is committed to tackling issues that affect the quality of life of its residents. The results of the  raids highlights how working closely with communities and listening to their concerns can provide results. We will continue to treat concerns seriously and where appropriate take positive action”.
