Anti-Social behaviour on Staveley Road from the junction with Chippinghouse Road down to and including the footpath which runs between Chippinghouse Road and Broadfield Road.

We did: 

>As of 15/07/2010 a total of 70 hours of patrol time has been dedicated to this issue since it was first set as a priority on 02/06/10.

> Following on from the Partners and Community Together (P.A.C.T) held on 07/07/10, despite good progress over the past month this priority is to remain for the next month due to ongoing Anti-Social Behaviour and particularly on the footpath between Broadfield Road and Chippinghouse Road.

>This week there has once again been a reduction in reported incidents.

>Officers, both uniformed and in plain clothes from the S.N.T. have once again conducted increased afternoon and evening patrols in this area throughout  the past week. They have continued to provide extra patrols to provide reassurance to both residents and local businesses which have been affected.

>A CCTV device has now been put in place to provide coverage in this area and therefore deter Anti-Social Behaviour, this already appears to be deterring youths from causing ASB in the area.

>A warrant was executed at the address of a male known to be committing offences in the Staveley Road area, although on this occasion, no arrests were made and no property recovered. 

> Contact has been made with the local dog warden to report issues regarding dog excrement in the park area on Staveley Road. Enquiries to be made by dog warden regarding this.

Youth Related Anti-Social Behaviour on Sitwell Road, Herschell Road and Mount Pleasant Park

We did: 

>As of 04/08/10 officers have spent 185 hours of patrol time on this priority since it was first set at the P.A.C.T meeting of 5th May 2010.

>During this past week there have been no reported incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour.

>On the 28th July officers from the S.N.A attended a Community Fun Day in Mount Pleasant Park, the event was well attended by families and young people in the area and there were no reported incidents.

>Contact has been made with the Mount Pleasant Park Ranger in relation to further pruning of some of the greenery near to Herschell Road to discourage the youths from congregating there.

>On Tuesday 13th July officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team attended a Multi-Agency Meetiing in relation to this priority. All agencies came together to establish an action plan to concentrate on reducing crime and Anti- Social Behaviour significantly in this area over the next couple of months.

>This week there has once again been increased uniformed and plain clothes patrols within Mount Pleasant Park during late afternoon and evening to provide reassurance to residents and local business and identify offenders.

>Two Parental Advisory Letters have been issued to parents in the area in relation to their child's behaviour.

>One male has been processed for a Section 5 Public Order Offence in relation to Anti-Social Behaviour in the area.

> Two Males have been arrested in connection with robberies in the area with further enquiries ongoing.

>Officers had  been conducting ongoing enquiries in relation to recent criminal damage and Anti-Social Behaviour reports from a local cafe in order to identify offenders and deal with them accordingly. As a result of these enquiries a male was arrested for criminal damage and assault offences.

> Local residents continue to be encouraged to report all incidents of Anti-Social behaviour or suspicious activity in the area to the Police.

Youth Related Anti-Social Behaviour on Sellers Street

At the Sharrow P.A.C.T meeting of the 5th of May 2010 local residents made officers aware of an increase in Youth related Anti-Social behaviour in and around the bungalows on Sellers Street.

> Residents have all been encouraged to report instances of Anti-social Behaviour to the Police promptly and the local P.C.S.O has provided reassurance and advice to residents.

>There has been no reported incidents during the past two weeks.

> 27/4/10 Officers Stopped Searched several Youths in this location following reports from local residents.

>Officers have increased patrols on Club Garden Road.

>Local residents have been encouraged to report all incidents, so Officers can respond promptly and identify those found to be causing a nuisance.

>PCSO's have engaged with several young people using this area, have made them aware of complaints and given appropriate advise.

This was made a new priority at the PACT meeting on 06/01/10 and continues to be a priority following the meeting on 03/02/10.

We did: 

> There has been a total of 25 hrs patrol time, as at 26/02/2010, since this was set as a PACT priority at the meeting of 06/01/2010.

> Operation K-KRASSUS is an ongoing Police operation aimed at dealing with Anti-Social behaviour. Both the local Police team and the area response group have been targeting patrols around areas with problems of anti-social behaviour. The area around Clough Road/ Edmund Road has benefitted from these increased patrols

>There has been no reported incidents at this location since the last P.A.C.T meeting on 3/2/2010 when it remained as a current priority.

Youth Related ASB, Drug use, Dealing, Abbeydale Road area.

What issues concerned you most in your area?

You said: 

Drug taking and dealing on Abbeydale Road, Herschell Road, Stavely Road and Fieldhead Road.

This priority was first agreed at the Partners & Communities Together (PACT) meeting of 24th of June 2009 and still remains a priority following the most recent  P.A.C.T meeting of 25th of November, 2009.

Late Afternoon and Evening Time

We did: 

>Between 14/12/09 and 17/12/09 officers from the SNA dealt with 3 cannabis factories which were identified in the Sharrow area. Plants totalling in excess of £30,000 were seized and destroyed.

> On Wednesday the 25/11/2009 Officers from the Sharrow Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) along with colleagues from CID executed a drugs warrant in the Sharrow area. A large amount of cannabis and money was recovered. One male was arrested for possesion of a controlled drug with intent to supply and assault. 

> On Saturday the 21/11/2009 Officers from Sharrow Safer Neighbourhood Team, along with colleagues from the Youth Offending Service and Youth Provision took part in a city wide operation engaging with young people, finding out their thoughts  on Policing and youth provision in the areas where they live. Officers also engaged with vulnerable young people, those at risk of becoming involved in criminality or any other activities putting them at risk. Over 19 young people were spoken with in the Sharrow area. 

>There  continues to be a reduction in the number of complaints from local residents, especially in the area of Fieldhead Rd.

>From 16th -22nd November a Police operation was carried out by officers from Sharrow SNA specifically targeted at Anti-Social Behaviour. Officers from the SNT  conducted patrols up until Midnight each night in order to both provide reassurance to residents and also to deal appropriately with those found to be causing Anti-Social Behaviour. These patrols included  uniformed officers on foot,  officers on mountain bikes and also plain clothed officers . Officers have also used their Police powers to search where appropriate, individuals and or vehicles.  Officers engaged in the operation have ensured they fully explained why there was an increased police presence to residents in order to provide reassurance and have been sensitive to the needs of the local community at all times.  During this Police operation 20 individuals have been stopped and their details checked by officers.

>A meeting was held with the newly appointed Mount Pleasant Park Ranger to discuss issues in relation to the park.

>Partners from Streetforce, the Drug and Alcohol Action Team all  continue to provide dedicated staff to assist in resolving the priority.

> Partnership working with the youth offending team is ongoing. Members of the youth offending team have also accompanied PCSO's on patrol in the area.

>Whilst this has been a P.A.C.T priority  Sharrow Safer Neighbourhood Team,  and other policing partners have specifically targeted the Abbeydale Road area addressing the problem of drugs and anti social behaviour. The Operation has been sucessful with a number of persons being arrested for drug related criminality in addition to positive action in relation to anti-social behaviour and vehicle crime. 

>Following the efforts of officers from the Sharrow Safer Neighbourhood team a prolific drug dealer from the Landsdowne area is now back behind bars. The offender was recalled due to breach of his release licence conditions and will be remanded until March.

>Approximately 190 hours of patrol time (as at 04/01/10) has been spent on this priority since it was first set as a priority at the PACT meeting on 24th of June, 2009.
>Members of the Local Community are encouraged to report any incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour or issues involving drugs to the Police. 

Anti-social use of vehicles & Drug use

You said: 

Cars/Taxi's parking up on South Croft Walk, Southcroft Gardens, Belper Road & Avenue Road, involved in drug related activity.

This priority was first agreed at the Partners & Communities Together (PACT) meeting of 24th of June, 2009 and will remain the same as per the PACT meeting of the 29th of July 2009.

Antisocial behaviour (Youth Nuisance) Nuisance Motorcycles.

Antisocial behaviour (Youth nuisance) & Nuisance Motorcycles in the  London Rd, Washington Rd,Club Garden Rd areas including Mount Pleasent Park 

This priority was first agreed at the Partners & Communities Together (PACT) meeting of 29th of April and will remain a PACT priority following the PACT meeting on the 27 of May.

Anti-Social Behaviour is reported in the Washington / Club Garden Road area from 5pm daily. Motorcycles on a daily basis

We did: 

 

>Operation K-Fridge 2 is currently running to tackle in particular, Anti-Social behaviour in the area. This operation will run throughout the summer months on selected dates into the late evening. Local SNA staff will provide high visibility patrols with additional Police resources, including mounted officers deployed when appropriate.

> Sharrow Community Forum and the Council are looking into the placing of signage regarding the riding of motorcycles in the park and the cost of installing "A" frame gates to prevent access by motor cycles onto the park. 

> High visibilty patrols from 3.30pm onwards  by local SNA Officers,  P.C's  &  P.C.S.Os  together with Neighbourhood Wardens and Special Constabulary Officers, to tackle both nuisance motor cycles and anti-social behaviour.

Approximately 45 hours patrol time has currently been spent on this priority (as at 12/06/09) since it was set on 29th April. 

> One youth was arrested on 1st May on Mount Pleasant Park for public order offences after officers seized an illegal motor cycle.

>Since this priority was set  five illegal motor cycles have been seized by officers during both pro-active patrols and in response to reports from the public. Since the most recent seizure on 2nd May reports of nuisance motor cycles have reduced in the area. 

>One young person whose motor cycle was recently seized has since been issued with an A.B.C (anti-social behaviour contract) in relation to his activities. 

> During the "Smartwater " operation  in Sharrow 27th April -1st May,  SNA officers spoke with local residents and encouraged them to report all incidents relating to nuisance motorcycles in the area and to pass on any information which may help identify those involved.

>Detached Youth workers are working in the Washington Road Flats area targetting relevant young people and providing diversionary activities.

>Our colleagues from the Road Policing Group are patrolling the area and taking enforcement action.

>The Sharrow Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) has adopted the priority within their tactical plan and are implementing a variety of iniatives to reduce and prevent  anti-social behaviour.

>The Kickz project is running workshops to raise awareness amongst young people in relation to their behaviour.

Burglary and vehicle crime

You said: 

Burglary and vehicle crime around Arley st, John st and Bramall Lane areas of Highfields.

This priority was agreed at the Partners & Communities Together (PACT) meeting of 27th of May 2009.

There is no set pattern to these offences  which are being committed during the day as well as in the night.

We did: 

>The local Police team as well as other Police resources are involved in Operation "KFlutter3" which  is targetting vehicle crime as well as antisocial behaviour in the Arley st, John St, Bramall Lane areas. 

>High visibilty patrols by P.Cs  and P.C.S.O's and Neighbourhood Wardens. So far approximately 40 hours patrol time (as at 12/06/09) has been spent on this priority since it was set on 29th April.

> Plain clothes officers from the Autocrime Unit  and Burglary Unit are also working in the area and other covert activities are ongoing which will help to identify offenders in relation to vehicle crime and burglaries.

>Since May 2009 work carried out by our colleagues in CID has led to 11 offenders of vehicle crime being brought before the courts in relation to 20 offences committed within Sharrow SNA. In addition  11 offenders have appeared before the courts charged with burglary  in relation to 22 offences committed within Sharrow SNA.  More detailed information on CID activity can be seen in the"SNT Action in Your Area "section.

> 2 PCSO's have engaged with motorists parking in the area from 7am providing reassurance,  in addition to offering each motorist a vehicle crime reduction pack.

> Officers have liaised with Neighbourhood Watch in the area to encourage them to report any suspicious activity in the area.

>2 arrests have been made in relation to autocrime offences.

>Partners and other agencies  have been briefed are are supporting the SNT staff.
