Officers from the Broomhill & Sharrow local Policing teams together with colleagues from Woodseats and Hillsborough, took part in an operation in relation to Scrap metal Collectors-Operation K ANCHOR.
Following reports from members of the community about vehicles touring local areas and taking items from gardens and properties, a joint operation with the above staff, VOSA (Vehicle and Service Operator Agency) officers, and council Environmental Enforcement Officers were put together to disrupt this activity.
Over 25 vehicles were stopped at a static site that had been set up on Penistone Rd, whilst other officers patrolled carrying out routine checks within the local areas.
VOSA issued 10 Prohibition Orders for veichles to be repaired within 7 days
8 x Environmental Sevice Checks-for Operator Licences (4 to be followed up)
2 x Vehicles were recovered under Operation Takeaway
1 x Endorsable Fixed Penalty notice issued for No Insurance
1 x Endorsable Fixed Penalty notice issued for Failing to Stop For a Police officer
2 x Stop and Search of Persons
