Bessacarr and Cantley SNT have conducted speeding operations to tackle concerns about speeding in the area.
The first operation took place on Tuesday, 17 May on Stoops Lane, Bessacarr. Four vehicles were found to be travelling above the 30mph speed limit and the drivers' were issued with a verbal caution and a speed advisory letter.
On the same day, another operation was set up on Goodison Boulevard, Cantley. There were no vehicles that were found to be travelling in excess of the speed limit.
On Friday, 20 May, the team conducted another operation on Stoops Lane, Bessacarr. This time, 12 vehicles were stopped as they were travelling above the 30mph speed limit. Eleven drivers' were issued with verbal cautions and speed advisory letters. One driver received an £80 fine and three points to go on their driving licence.
Between 7.20pm - 8.30pm on Saturday 4th June 2011 PC Jackie Cawley and Special Sergeant Adrian Fuller carried out a Speed Enforcement Operation on Stoops Lane near to the Nostell Place precinct. In total 4 cars were stopped due to speeding; 1 was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice; which is a £60.00 fine and 3 Penalty Points on a Driving Licence; 3 Speed Advisory Letters was given to the three motorists.
On Monday 12th September 2011 PC 1017 Dewsnap and PC 3387 Jackie Cwley carried out a Speed Enforcement Operation on Stoops Lane near to Nostell Place shops between 10.00am x 10.30am. In total 20 vehicles were checked; 1 vehicle was identified as speeding and the driver who was local was given a Verbal Warning.
