One such initiative is Smartwater. Smartwater is often referred to as DNA for houses as each resident get a unique kit that can be used to invisibly property mark their belongings. This acts as deterrent to criminals and assists the Police to identify and return any stolen property.
The impact of SmartWater as a criminal deterrent is becoming increasingly apparent every day. South Yorkshire Police are using and supporting the SmartWater strategy, and most importantly criminals are taking notice – living with the fear of being caught and convicted of crimes long after they have taken place.
Officers from Barnsley Central SNT have now been trained to mark property with SmartWater. And are able by prior arrangement to visit your home and give you a free pack and a inital demonstration.
