His role is to reduce anti social behaviour in and around schools, identifying and working with young people at risk of becoming involved in offending behaviour.
He works within the Safer Schools Partnership and has responsibility for all Secondary schools within the East, those being Thorne Trinity Academy, Hatfield Visual Arts College, Hungerhill High, and Armthorpe High.
Primary School inputs are limited to Personal Safety, Internet Safety and Anti Social Behaviour, these being complementary to the Missdorothy.com programme currently being utilised at most schools.
PC Plumridge works in partnership with agencies such as Youth Offending Team, Families First, and Remedi, working with small groups of pupils. These workshops are aimed at raising self esteem, risk awareness, behaviour and consequences, and improving inter- personal skills.
He works with the SNT's to carry out test purchase operations at Off-Licenses and supermarkets in the area to help combat under age drinking. He works closely with Education Welfare Officers carrying out Truancy Operations and also joint responsibility for training and managing the Doncaster Police Cadets who meet once a week.
